Description
Potential homeowners across the nation are relying on the expertise of housing counselors to guide them in the homebuying process. Housing counselors prepare clients when purchasing a home for the first time.
National Community Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC) in partnership with the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) cordially invites Housing counselors and non-profit leaders to participate in a five-day workshop providing critical information and tools to help housing counselors develop educational programs for prospective homeowners.
In this five-day workshop housing counselors will review the skills and tools needed to develop and present a quality homebuyer education workshop to potential first time homebuyers. The workshop will provide guidance on delivering the following topics:
- Preparing for homeownership
- Budget preparation
- Analyzing Credit reports
- Financing options
- The role of the real estate agent in selecting a home
- Maintaining a home
- Sustaining homeownership
- Avoiding delinquency and foreclosure
Pre-register for one of the upcoming sessions and attend the entire five-day training to receive a certificate of completion. Participation is open to all not-for-profit organizations and/or state or local agencies that provide housing counseling or fair housing services. Limited scholarships are available. Apply for scholarships at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/2012HCT
