Consultant, Special Initiatives
Robert O. (Bob) Zdenek, DPA, brings a unique combination of leadership, strategic analysis, and program design. He is Director of Special Initiatives at NCRC focusing on older adult economic security issues notably Age-Friendly Banking, and healthy communities. He is also a Director at the Public Health Institute in Oakland, CA. Bob co-produced an Emmy award winning film Fleeced: Speaking Out Against Senior Financial Abuse and has written publications with S.F. Federal Reserve, CSD, and Shelterforce. Bob has served as executive director of the Alliance for Healthy Homes and long-time president of NCCED. He was a senior program associate at the Annie E. Casey Foundation and V.P. for Community Building at United Way of America. His doctorate in Public Administration is from USC, and has published over 20 articles and two books. Bob is part-time faculty at New School University and has frequently taught the community development course He is a board member of Civic Works BNI, NHI and IDEAS. Bob’s current book, Navigating Community Development, co-authored with Dee Walsh was published in August 2017. He was a Visiting Scholar at Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco in 2015. Bob recently relocated with his family to San Francisco, CA.
