According to a recent report in philanthropy news digest, a majority of nonprofit organizations struggle to effectively measure and demonstrate the impact of their work. In the report: 71 percent of respondents considered outcomes measurement to be important; 76 percent said it was a top priority for their organization in 2019. But, only 20 percent believed they were “very effective at demonstrating outcomes.”

This webinar connects topics discussed from Part II on the theory of change to the logic model, which ultimately leads to the development of action-oriented, results-based, data driven logic models. Action-oriented logic models can be used as the guiding force in a nonprofits work to impact racial disparities.  Action-oriented logic models also give guidance and direction for next steps. For example, it displays the specific activities to be performed, and what the expected outcomes from the activities are. Data-driven logic models include information on what type of data is collected from activities and how often, etc.  Results-based logic models ensure that every item on the logic model is connected to an intended result/outcome. This connection helps to make it easier for nonprofits to “tell their story behind the data”.

You will learn:

  • How the relationship between the theory of change and the logic model is accomplished
  • How KPI’s connect to the outcomes within the logic model
  • The differences between outputs and outcomes in a logic model
  • How activities are defined in a logic model so that the intended outcomes are measurable
