ABC 7News, May 26, 2022, Scammers are targeting veterans & their family. Here’s what you need to know
The U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau reported that scammers will call or use mailers. Some claim to be with the Department of Veterans Affairs and will even spoof the phone numbers to make their calls look legitimate.
Others will pretend to be a home loan service in order to divert funds. Some veterans are told their homes face foreclosure and must act to keep their property.
