Join Jad Edlebi, NCRC’s Research GIS Data Engineer, for Digitizing Displacement: An Inside Look at Mapping Gentrification — a special talk that explores the power of spatial data in understanding and addressing housing inequities.
With a background in environmental science, urban planning, and advanced mapping technologies, Jad brings a unique perspective to spatial analysis at the intersection of technology and health. In this session, he’ll walk us through his groundbreaking work on mapping gentrification across the U.S., and dive into his recent paper, “Decades of Disinvestment: Historic Redlining and Mortgage Lending Since 1981.”
Together, we’ll explore how GIS tools can reveal patterns of disinvestment, displacement, and housing inequality — and how these tools can be leveraged to advocate for equitable change in our communities.
