For the past three quarters, the number of bank branches in the U.S. has actually increased, as our Nathan Place reports. In the second quarter, there were 13 more bank branches opened than closed, according to the nonprofit National Community Reinvestment Coalition. Over the past three quarters, 120 more bank branches have opened than closed.
