Disaster Preparedness Guide – Part II: Tools for Practitioners

When a nonprofit agency is preparing staff for a disaster, it is all hands on deck. This webinar will provide agency staff with tools to help their organization and clients prepare for a disaster, mitigate damage and navigate through the aftermath. In order to preserve the organization’s valuable assets and resources, we will outline opportunities for practitioners to support their agency in the development and implementation of plans, policies, and procedures.

You Will Learn:

  • Discuss the organizations’ Emergency Preparedness Team and become familiar with steps practitioners can take to be an effective member and ensure their division needs are met.
  • Learn how to help clients and community residents prepare for disaster and safeguard their assets and family members.
  • Establish community partners and identify ways that your agency may participate with other stakeholders in recovery efforts.
  • Explore possible disaster impacts and examine ways to help your clients navigate through recovery and back to pre-disaster state.
