Independent of the CFPB union lawsuit, three consumer advocacy groups — Rise Economy, the National Community Reinvestment Coalition and the Woodstock Institute — sued Vought and the CFPB last year, claiming the memo is part of an effort to shut down the agency, depriving the public of critical small-business complaint data
 and Home Mortgage Disclosure Act data.Â
