Catherine “Katy” Crosby has joined the staff of the National Community Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC) as Chief of Community Engagement & Institutional Accountability, after helping guide the organization as a board member since 2014, and since 2021 as the board chairperson.
“Katy Crosby’s tireless work ethic and shrewd insights have been instrumental to NCRC’s success ever since she joined our board in 2014,” said Jesse Van Tol, NCRC President and CEO. “We are thrilled that she has agreed to bring her talents even more directly to bear on our day-to-day work as our new Chief of Community Engagement & Institutional Accountability.”
Crosby will be replaced as Board Chairperson by Birmingham Business Resource Center Executive Director Robert Dickerson, Jr., who previously held the post from 2014 to 2021.
“I am excited to contribute further to the vital nationwide work NCRC does to advance the values it shares with its 700-plus member organizations,” Crosby said. “The richest country on earth should also be one where every citizen has the same opportunities to thrive – but a complex network of economic, social and policy factors still walls tens of millions of Americans out of that prosperity. NCRC is one of the most energetic and creative organizations within the fight to build a just economy – so I’m thrilled to join the team.”
Crosby served as NCRC Board Chairperson from 2021 through 2023, while working as Town Manager for Apex, North Carolina. She previously served as Chief of Staff to Toledo Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz. She is a member of the Higher Learning Commission board and the Root Cause Coalition.
