The funding, awarded in partnership with Boston Financial Investment Management, will go toward building a 36-unit affordable housing complex set to serve individuals currently experiencing houselessness and individuals with physical, intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, the two groups said.
Importantly, this effort is focusing on improving health equity. Denver has ranked second as the most-gentrified city in the US, per 2020 figures from the National Community Reinvestment Coalition. And that gentrification is disproportionately affecting Black and African American people, CVS Health said.
