President Donald Trump no longer needs a reason to fire Kathy Kraninger, the head of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, thanks to the Supreme Court. Doesn’t mean he would ever do that, of course; in fact, Kraninger welcomed the decision that the agency’s leadership structure is unconstitutional, as Republicans have long argued: “Today’s Supreme Court decision finally brings certainty to the operations of the Bureau,” she tweeted. “Consumers and market participants should understand that the same rules continue to govern the consumer financial marketplace.”
