In partnership with the National Community Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC), we organized two days of CLT peer-learning exchanges together with the NCRC Just Economy Conference in Washington, DC. Co-designed and facilitated by CLT organizers, these exchanges focused on priorities emphasized by CLTs in phases one and two: (1) securing capital for land acquisition and development, and (2) strengthening community control and building trust in communities of color with histories of disinvestment and displacement. Representatives from 22 CLTs participated in at least one of these facilitated discussions. In parallel, we expanded our participant observation to other national CLT network dialogs, including sessions led by GSN, NYC Community Land Initiative, and Greater Boston CLT Network to understand how regional discussions mirrored or diverged from the challenges and solutions emerging in phases one through three.
