The National Community Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC) presented its Senator William Proxmire lifetime achievement award to Hubert Van Tol at the organization’s Just Economy Conference in Washington, DC, on April 9, 2018.
Van Tol, a member of NCRC’s board of directors since its founding in 1990, has spent 30 years in the non-profit sector in a variety of policy, housing, finance and executive director capacities. He is now Senior Director for Economic Development at PathStone Corporation in Rochester, N.Y.
“His passion for economic justice and fairness in the financial services sector is second to none,” said John Taylor, President and Founder of NCRC. “I have always enjoyed serving alongside Hubert, and have appreciated his grassroots orientation, his thoughtful analysis and his soft-spoken manner. Hubert is never given to hyperbole and in general is a man of few words. But when he speaks, he reminds us of the old E.F. Hutton commercial. He speaks and people listen.”
